I didn't expect this to be such a funny, easy read.

"... there was my advocate, a concerned-looking man I called Dr. Strange (p. 120)."
I'm picturing Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange in a therapist office.

Congratulations. You've just had your first experience of sexism... at age 42.
I first became acutely aware of misogyny at age 4. Imagine how confident women and girls would be without that.

whoa mother - this is one hell of a story, and a very well-written one. i am SO glad i read this book, as it gave me incredible insight into what it means to be born transgendered. very enlightening. i would highly recommend it.

I am thankful that this memoir has helped me expand my understanding of gender identity. And I am also *really* thankful that I have my awesome book group with whom to discuss it. I took notes this time, ladies!
