I do think this is a step above in terms of writing and details compared to the other cosy fantasy books i've read. I still love each and every one of them, but this one just felt more mature in writing. I learnt to love each character, and there was this cool low stakes mystery which worked out in the end. The main couple is cute and its not all smooth sailing, which was nice. I do think this and Can't Spell Treason without Tea are my two favourite books of 2023.
