Its disturbing how the sex trade industry is. This was not a story I want to review because this was based on a true story and the ordeal this woman went through. Who am I to judge? So with that said I will say that it was beautifully written despite what she went through.

I really don't know what to make of this book. What Sophie went through is horrible but yet I can't understand why she fell so easily into prostitution. I have read and seen programmes on trafficking and her case how it starts is nothing like other people's. Even though she knew the man for 4years prior to this through texts and phone calls she had only physically been with him no more than a week or so before he turned on her and even when he turned up after she was back home in her own country it still took her days before telling anyone. I think people will find it hard to relate to Sophie's story as she seemed to go into it without putting up any fight. It just made in parts hard reading as I for one could not understand why she did some of the things she did.
This had me quiver with fear from start to finish and I could not put this book down. Sophie's story is so powerful and emotional and is a must read so that we can all be aware of human trafficking and its consequences. Just as a warning though, her traumatising experiences are heavily detailed in my opinion and may cause readers some uncomfortableness whilst reading it.

The tragic story of a girl who fell victim to a criminal who took advantage of her immaturity and prostituted her. The subject matter is very important, a glimpse into the dark world of human trafficking through the eyes of one of the victims. The problem, and it is a huge one here, is the narrator who is obviously an immature spoiled girl whose main concern throughout the whole ordeal is how ugly she looked, the hideous clothes she was forced to wear, and the fact that her abuser does not really love her.
The publisher should have hired a ghost writer, or if he did, fired the ghost writer and got a proper one. Instead of that, we end up with 300 pages of story after story of how her father was bad and consequently responsible for her poor judgment, and how she wants to be loved and rescued by some magical heroic man.

A haunting memoir with terrible Goodreads reviews because people don’t understand how a wealthy, educated woman can become a victim of sex trafficking.
