I had heard really great things about this book, and by great I mean it was eye opening, honest and a different perspective.

I am not here to judge anyone's story - to go through that would be horrific and completely life changing. What I am critiquing is the writing: this could have used a little more editing and revision as I found a lot of the meat of the story was the same thing from chapter to chapter. I get that it's important to have background and build up to how it happened, but the middle of the book was a lot of the same, so that could have been edited or written differently.

Another thing I don't understand is her relationship with Erion. When she came back, she was trying to get her life back together and I get that but she seemed to have jumped right back into her relationship with him. And going to clubbing again with her friend? She says she has all these trust issues, and wasn't sure who she was or if she could go back to her life before but then she's doing these things that she did before? I don't know - it just seemed like there was something missing to that part of the story.

Further - thinking she could handle Kas? I know she was brainwashed but giving him her phone and letting him in the apartment? Also, when she called Robin to inform him of the threats to Kas coming to look for her and Robin didn't take them seriously saying don't worry, he won't risk it and then he shows up? To me that doesn't seem like very good police work - if the victim is being threatened I think it should be taken seriously.

Again, I know this is her story so we can't say what should have happened but I do think there could have been more background and information given about some parts, and less about others.

Made me lose trust in men

All I can say about this book is a big thank you to Sophie for sharing her story with the world. It was the most traumatizing thing I have ever read, and my heart breaks for everything she had to go through. And not just her, but others who have gone through this, or are going through this.

Two stars because of the writing style. Her editor should have worked harder.
