This is a childhood favorite for me. This was my Percy Jackson & Harry Potter. This book has my whole heart regardless how much of it i remember. It was so magical for 9 year old me to read, i was borrowing it from my classroom's bokshelf. Meaning, i could only read it at school and i would use every spare second i had toread it while i was at school because i was so invested in the book. My love goes to Emily Windsnap. I've read this twice once when i was 9 and then when i was 11. Loved it just as much as the first time.

If I was 13 years old, I would be all over this series. It was cute, it was fun, it was juvenile for sure. I am not going to continue on with the series, because I am in fact not a 13 year old girl anymore.

Meant for a younger audience and given the target audience it is a perfect book. Yes it’s cheesy convenient youthful writing but it’s an easy enjoyable read.
The audio narrator was so good though!

Emily discovers that she turns into a mermaid when she swims and is more than a little surprised. Through some detective work, she learns that she is half mermaid and her father is in prison for loving a human. Can she find a way to bring her family back together? This is a fun story for readers who love mermaids! Best for 3rd-6th grade.
