Hooray! I have now read my first Sherlock Holmes book. (I'm embarrassed to admit this.)

I enjoyed listening to the Audio book and though I had my suspicions, there were still plenty of moments of surprise. I love how the author slowly unraveled the story and how logically the mystery unfolded. Great read!

This was my 3rd time reading this book (in addition to the excerpts my students read in their textbooks each year) and I've found that I've been absorbed in completely different characters and plot details each time. I also seem to like the story more with each reading. We discussed this at book club last night, and some of the talking points included: Holmes' ethics and treatment of/attitude toward Watson; Dr. Mortimer's funny skull fascination; Holmes and Watson's living arrangements; treatment of the servants by various characters; Watson's personality; the Stapleton weirdness. We also compared the book to the Sherlock episode, which is a fantastic modernization with interesting interpretations.

What a fun tail (

MY COURSE IS MAKING ME READ SOME GREAT BOOKS THIS SEM AAAAAAAAA
