This was a pretty good book and for such a dated biography. I didn't expect it to be quite so candid. I had no idea the Tolstoy's lived in such emotional turmoil. I have a lot of sympathy and respect for Sonya Tolstoy and how difficult it must have been for her to live with a self-righteous literary genius.
Now I can see the emotion and agitation behind The Kreutzer Sonata and The Death of Ivan Ilych.
I'm looking forward to reading War and Peace this coming fall.
