Yet another unheralded sequel, which is deeply irritating. There was therefore a lot of explanation and telling not showing at the start of the book that would have been unnecessary if it had been clearly marked as a sequel.

Also the author appears to think that (a)millenials are all another species and (b)all SPEAK LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME and get excited about very random things. When one of them was a fairly main character in the book, the fact that she was only a cipher came across as lazy writing.

It's a fluff book, and fine for the train, or something like that.

I Love Love Love Fay and the wonderful cast of characters that come along for the ride!

This is a wonderful cosy christmas story that will continue the journey with Fay, Danny, Lija and the adorable Stan. As we delve ever deeper into their storylines you will not be disappointed. If you loved the first book as much as I did then you will certainly enjoy the second instalment. It’s funny, emotional and warm hearted. Matthews writes novels that really warm your heart and make you feel happy and hungry. The cakes! The Food! Bon Appetit!

This was such a heartwarming novel! Perfect as a gentle read over the Christmas period.

I had read one of Carole Matthews’ novels before and really enjoyed it, so when I was looking for a Christmassy read this one caught my eye. I am so glad it did, because it was the perfect read to snuggle up by the fire with.

The couple in this book has apparently already appeared in an earlier book, but I have not read that one. This was absolutely fine as a standalone though. I kind of enjoyed stepping into an existing relationship rather than a blossoming one for a change. The characters are all likeable and endearing and so well written. Many of them made me smile. I really enjoyed the gentle storyline as well. Nothing was overly dramatic.

Truly, this book is like a hug or a cup of hot chocolate. I just love this author’s books and I will definitely read more by her.

I mean, the story was lovely but the characters were VERY annoying. SERIOUSLY. Wtf was with Rainbow? Is the girl deranged? Why did the author feel the need to capitalize every other word for her? She's a teenager not insane.
