This whole series is a five star but I don’t wanna have two books from one series on here right off the bat lmao
I did not give this series a fighting chance the way I read it in tandem with throne of glass over a year and then waited many a month to read the last book and got into fantasy smut at the same time which is such a different vibe
I was so not interested in the series but wanted to finish the last book to say I did. I switched to audio book and upped the speed just to get through it :(
Marissa is a good writer and I at one point was super into the story line and the characters (mostly Scarlett and cress and Iko) but the world building and character development pales in comparison to Sarah j Maas and this was too YA for me -> that being said I would have ATE this up as a tween.
Overall this is a great YA novel and I recommend for literal young adults but as a medium aged adult I wasn’t SLIVING

I was so excited when I started Winter. The characters are truly amazing in this series so I could not wait to get to know Winter. Unfortunately there was little time for that. Winter was hardly in the book and we didn't got to know here. This 800 pages book felt rushed and at the same time slow at some places. Also the location jumps were confusing. Sometimes we got no explanation to how people got to certain places.
The story itself felt a little bit like Mockingjay with uniting all the districts against the Capitol. There was also little world building and for a book that takes place on Lunar, that's not acceptable.
But now the good things: IKO IS AMAZING! I love here and she made up for so much in this book. All my ships sailed away and this happy Ending made me really happy. Cinder is Badass as allways, as is Scarlett and Cress. So after all I enjoyed this book even if it had a lot of issues.

It's over! It's done! Thank goodness for that.
Stunning conclusion to a wonderful YA series. This book had me hooked from start to finish -- the action, the rebellion, the loss and tragedy, the victories for the character. Meyer truly made me feel every emotion as I followed each of the character's stories until the conclusion. Just a wonderful series overall that everyone should read.
Specifically centers on Winter's story, at times, and I loved getting to learn more about her character and her struggles. She was such a wonderful character to follow. You couldn't help but root for her and Jacin by the end.
I also loved hearing more from Scarlet/Wolf, Cress/Thorne, Iko, and the rest of the gang.

I stayed up all night to finish 500 left over pages. It was intense and I loved it! I loved Jacin and Winter the most, they had a peculiar relationship followed by Scarlet and Wolf, Thorne and Cress and then Cinder and Kai.
overall a well written book, not rushed at all.

A satisfying end to a series I really ended up enjoying, although I think this may have been my least favorite of the four novels. A surprisingly delightful quartet of novels for the YA/futuristic set.
