Stunning. A phenomenal end to a phenomenal series.
This book reminded me that what I genuinely enjoy reading is a sci-fi/fantasy blend with a healthy dose of YA romance and tons of fast-paced action. Everything else can be educational, make me a better person, help me think, yadda, yadda- but the real story I adore is one that reminds me of Marvel movies, Avatar, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.
Rebels, revolutions, villains, heroes, special powers, the chosen one, yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.
Can’t wait to buy and read absolutely everything Marissa Meyer ever writes again.

I loved this series so much. Such great, complex characters, and a really refreshing and original spin on classic fairy tales. I was so lost when I finished this one!

This book was a marathon of a read.
When I started to read The Lunar Chronicles I didn’t expect to fall in love with the books as much as I did. I am not one to usually read retellings, but the way Meyer crafted each one was perfection. And while it took me a rather long time to get into Winter, I don’t think the series could have ended any other way. From the characters, to the action scenes, Winter is a full blown epic conclusion that I think many people, whether you are a fan of Sci-Fi or just YA in general, will love! Also, the fairytale aspect of it doesn’t hurt either!
Princess Winter is a character that you cannot help but fall in love with. She has this innocence about her that brings light to a rather dark story. She was a bit naive at times, but I think that made her character that much more interesting to read about. Also, her dynamic with Scarlet was probably the funniest part of the entire novel.
This last book really had me caring about the characters. I wanted them all to live happily ever after and stay in touch and enjoy life because this is what happens when I get overly invested in books. Which isn’t really much of a surprise is it? From the original characters such as Cinder and Kai to the newer like Cress and Winter, I loved them all! I think the characters were the strongest point of the entire series. From their relationships to their inner thoughts, all of it was done so well! Even the villains such as Levanna and Aimery Park were brilliant.
There were times when I thought the story was dragging a bit in the beginning, but once you get to the halfway point, it is a straight shot to the end. I couldn’t put it down. So much was happening, especially with Cinder. The cyborg’s storyline in Winter was just so good. Everything from start to finish was a rollercoaster of emotions. Cinder’s arc wasn’t my favourite from the entire series, but it was in Winter. She had some of the best action scenes along with great dialogue. Even though the last book is focused a lot on Princess Winter, Meyer doesn’t let you forget who started it all and who would end it.
Everything comes to an end in the final book. All the questions are answered and more and more possibilities for the future come to light. We get to learn even more about Luna throughout the book and if you ever wondered just how diabolical Queen Levana can be, you’ll find out in Winter, trust me when I say this: She’s even worse than you thought!
Overall, I give this book 5/5 stars! Even though it took me a while to finish, I still loved it and it is now my second favourite of the series. Scarlet still holds number one, though. If you have ever thought to read this series, but don’t think you will enjoy it, please just get it and try it out! The end of the series is worth reading the beginning of it. Does that make sense? I hope so. To be honest, this whole review doesn’t seem to make sense. My thoughts aren’t exactly put together at the moment…hmm.
Well, anyway, read this book! Do it, go on! It’s great and if you like sci-fi and fairytales and epic space battles you should enjoy this immensly!
Happy Reading!

Wow. I almost have no words to give this book/series a just review. Marissa Meyer does an amazing job of wrapping everything up in Winter, while at the same time producing a page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat (or couch
2023 reread: It's like 600 pages of 'oh hell, now this character's in trouble.' I love how this wraps up though - even if it is a little quick at the end.
Original review: I absolutely loved this book. Love, love, love, love, love. This is the ending that a big, wonderful series like this deserves. It was absolutely perfect. I got so emotional and all the feels hit me very hard. I love all the characters, the setting, the humour, the throws to the fairy tales... Marissa Meyer has created such a wonderful world that I just don't want to leave. I will most definitely be re-reading this series and I think it may have slipped into being one of my favourites. I cannot recommend this book and this series enough.

I don't even know what to say...
It's 3 AM and I just finished Winter, and all I can do is sit here and marvel at the AMAZINGNESS that is The Lunar Chronicles. Oh my goodness. Maybe it's post-series euphoria, but all I'm thinking right now is that this is one of THE BEST SERIES I have ever read.
I love every single character so darn much. And the ending, stars, the ending was spectacular. Cinder and Kai and Thorne and Cress and Scarlet and Wolf and Iko and just... AHHH IT WAS SO GOOD. Someone hold me.

Sooooooooo good! So sad to see the series end, but it felt right. Nice job, Marissa Meyer!
Good ending to the series, I'm just not as into reading about a full-out war. I was glad to see that the characters continued to make mistakes and have flaws.
Okay so first of all: finallyyyyy. I’ve been reading this for too long and it’s been giving me anxiety. This is the best finale to an incredible series and I’m just so happy I read it. Every step of it is perfect and every new character, like always, is charming and right in place. The plot development was incredible and thrilling and whenever you thought it was gonna be okay, it kept going. Also, I’m here for Thorne’s character development. Like, go Thorne! I also adored getting to know Winter and Jacob better, and the friendship between winter and scarlet and between cinder and Thorne are everything I’ve ever wanted to read about. Still not convinced about why Cinder likes Kali so much, but I ship Thorne with cress more than I ship him with cinder. I actually ship thorne with EVERYONE. Long story short: the most incredible 845 pages I’ve read in the series.
