Even if the #metoo and #TimesUp movements have made workplace romances less common (a February 2018 CareerBuilders' survey cites the figure at 36%, down from 41% in 2017 and 40% in 2008), a sizable number of Americans still meet romantic partners at the office. Can romance novels depict such romances, but in a way that takes into account the concerns raised by #metoo and #TimesUp?

liked the conversations about depression; when she said that it sounded like his words had been read from her brain i had to agree.

— three and a half stars

listen, i had fun! boss x employee isn’t one of my favorite trope but enjoyed reading this book. a great sequel and i loved how hibbert built upon ravenswood and our side characters. hannah felt a lot more complex than ruth did in my opinion and the introduction to ruth was great. i think i just had a problem with the pacing as it just felt way too slow or way too fast at some points where i was just confused by big plot points. but at the end of the day, it was a great read
