When introvert Riley meets extrovert Scarlett, her world begins to change. Suddenly she has a new group of friends and a social life. When the opportunity arises for them to go off the grid and work on their art on a secluded island, no one can guess the horrors that will break out there. The truth is, you never really know who your friends are.

This was a twisty and mind-bending psychological ride from Carissa Ann Lynch. I loved how different each character was. The chapters did a bit of head hopping which made the story even more immersive by making it clear what each character was thinking without giving away the murderer until the perfect moment.

Suspense was amped up not only through the murder-mystery element, but the need the characters had for survival on a desert island as well. This story was reminiscent of an Agatha Christie novel, and I love it.

All in all, chilling and tough to put down.

I really wanted to like this one but it just fell flat. This whole concept is amazing but the execution just wasn’t for me. The prologue really threw me off and I just didn’t get immediately invested the way I want to be with a book like this.

“six of us are going to the island. only one of us will make it back. that one of us will be me.”

thank you to one more chapter and netgalley for my gifted copy, and for sending me a request to read this one!

four college friends plan a getaway to whisper island to focus on their art, but things go awry when one’s drug addict brother and his girlfriend show up. as the girls’ secrets come to the surface, so do more bodies, and perhaps the killer is just a whisper away...

“whisper island” is my second carissa ann lynch, and it did not disappoint! it was a quick, fast-paced read without being bogged down by all of the typical thriller tropes involving people trapped on an island. the alternating viewpoints help you get to know each of the characters, and i definitely didn’t see that big twist at the end!

think “and then there were none” but make it more personal. is it the perfect thriller? no, but it is fast, fun, and worth reading while you’re stuck inside this weekend!
