A family-centered drama akin to Little Fires Everywhere, and a story I did not expect to love. Shocked me at some points, cathartic at others - I was so invested. A lovely surprise that reminds you - every family has their shit.

I flew through this! The timelines wove perfectly together, the drama was immaculate and I was so captivated by Nina and Kit’s journeys and arcs. Reid does such an incredible job at writing nuanced but lovable women who have so many layers. I loved the scenes where Reid discussed the hypocrisy over the reception of Nina’s surfing career when compared to Jay’s, and Kit’s realization at the end of the novel brought me to tears. They’re definitely my two favorite characters in the universe Taylor Jenkins Reid has created and this will probably end up being one of my favorite reads of the year!

I loved the different povs of all the main characters but also people who just showed up at the party. I liked how the book was set up so that all the drama would be subsided by the end of the night. All the characters were charming in their own way. I would definitely read this book again and recommend others to read it too!

A fun read ! The story starts a bit slow but picks up around a third of the book I would say.
I was really invested in both timelines and almost every storyline, the characters can be a bit flat sometimes but I loved their dynamic. The only I didn’t really like is Jay for some reason, but I could relate a lot to Nina.
A bit too much surfing for my taste though.
