A truly gripping book. I'm simultaneously excited and terrified to see what comes next... I flew through this volume so quickly, even though I was turning the pages scared to see what hellacious, diabolical monstrosity would appear next.

Guts' determination, hatred and terror are palpable and Miura's detailed drawings only add to the story. I know I have much more misery, grief and terror to go through, but I can only hope that this ultimately ends happily.

Note: there is child sexual assault at the end of this volume. It's not quite graphic, but it is very clear what's about to happen. I would assume this scene continues into the next volume.

The first introduction of the God Hand and more information about the Invocation of Doom and the role of demons in the material world. I am still so blown away by the sense of dread that never leaves as you continue reading this manga. This volume also marks the entrance into the Golden Age arc aka Griffith is a slimy bitch arc so I am ready to hold up my pitchforks again.
