For me, the story is a tad too sweet, the language is a little too poetic, and the drama is a bit too much (only the tiniest bit, or maybe it's the way it's delivered here). Although that all is accompanied by a nicely written story, funny moments and the fact that Dani is interested in working in STEM, which I dunno know why I kind of liked and paid special attention to this particular time time. So, overall, it's a nice little romance read.

I thought the story was really well done and I really enjoyed the characters. I think some of the events were a little hard to believe but overall it was still a great story. I appreciated that the drama wasn't too outlandish because sometimes in romance the characters can be over the top with the drama and I feel like this story gave you enough drama without it being too much. another thing that I really liked was this book had a widower who wasn't head over heels still in love with his deceased wife. I find that in stories that involve a character with a deceased partner can tend to make it seem like the deceased was 100% perfect and they could do no wrong and it makes it hard for the other protagonist to fill those shoes So I really appreciate how the author presented us with the situation. I felt like I could 100% root for them to be together without having that lingering love of a deceased character.

A single dad who just happens to fall in love with his kids nanny.
Emil and Dani first meet at a Summer Ball where Dani was never invited to. It was a mix-up.
I did like the book even though at about half of the book I hated Emil because he trusted a dumb fuck over Dani and fired her?

I think I'm just moody and should probably stop writing book reviews. BUT the ending angst was just not for me. I can't even put into words how annoyed I got.

Enjoyed

Firstly, this author really likes the pregnancy trope… and I don’t hate it.

I really enjoyed this book, there were some parts that I wish had been more developed, dad spending time with his kids for example. But there were more parts I absolutely loved.

This book is a cute and enjoyable read that hits many of the typical trope: from unexpected pregnancies to last-minute breakups and makeups, the story delivers a delightful dose of romance and lightheartedness.

What sets this book apart from others in this genre is the strong and independent nature of the heroine. She isn't solely focused on settling down with a billionaire; she has her own goals and aspirations in life. This added depth to her character and made her more relatable and engaging. While the story follows familiar patterns, it keeps readers entertained and invested.

The writing style is engaging, and the pacing keeps the plot moving along smoothly. If you're in the mood for a fun and enjoyable read with a touch of romance and spice - Big Bossy Mistake is a good choice.
