I loved The Prince and the Apocalypse so I was VERY Excited to read book 2 in the series!
Loved Wren and Theo already and love them still! Their chemistry and banter are so fun to read!
I also loved some new characters, like King Theo's brother, Henry, and getting to know characters from the first book even better, like Naomi and Brooke!
As in the first book, a new kind of adventure and close calls await Theo and Wren around every corner!
It was exciting, suspenseful and fun all at once! Loved, loved, loved every page!

💫 “My eyes land on Theodore Geoffrey Edward George. The king of England. My maybe husband. The boy who broke my heart.” 💫

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Kara Mcdowell for providing an arc not once, but twice for both of the books in this duology. I will forever be eternally grateful to you for giving me this series 🥰

When receiving the arc for The Prince & The Apocalypse last July, I didn’t think it was possible to fall so hard for two characters. I connected so deeply Wren Wheeler and I never rooted for couple so hard in my life!

read if you love:
-friends to lovers
-amazing banter/chemistry
-representation for panic attacks/depression
-cliff hangers

my synopsis:

In Heir Apparently, the universe and fate definitely had it out for these two and consistently tested their love! it was a great love story about choosing to love yourself first, being able stand up, and recognize when something isn’t for you. Or when something or someone is. It’s about not leaving things up to fate and going after your dreams even it scares you.

I loved every single second of this series and could read a million more pages on the lives of Wren and Theo, but for now I’ll just imagine all the different scenarios in every universe (including this one) where they always end up finding each other. 🥹🫶🏻

If you are looking for a sickening sweet romcom with great banter please check out this book everywhere on July 9th, 2024 <3

Five Word Book Review: Oops, we did it again.

Picking up after their decision to marry on a Greek island despite a comet very much *not* destroying Earth in the first book, The Prince & the Apocalypse, we find Wren Wheeler preparing for her freshman year of college at home in Chicago and the crown prince Theo back in England preparing to…King.

But Wren isn’t happy; not only does she feel rudderless among so many people with a plan, she desperately misses Theo…I mean their apocalypse dog, Comet. That’s the only reason she’s obsessively reading news online about the royal family. Really. I swear.

So when Theo and siblings arrive in Canada for a “walkabout”, Wren hatches a plan to dognap Comet and maybe get the chance to talk to her long lost husband who has been radio silent since they parted ways in Greece.

But guys? Tragedy, chaos, and excitement follows these kids around because after a car chase and some tense and tentative reconciliations, they end up stranded on a remote volcanic island after a plane crash. As one does.

And so Theo, along with brother Henry and sister Victoria, and Wren, along with sister Brooke and BFF Naomi have to figure out how to get rescued, how to outrun lava, and what to do when they return to civilization.

Can Theo and Wren find a happily ever after?

This is a super fun, action packed adventure romcom that continues with the deadpan humor and wry exchanges among all of our characters that began in the first book. You’ll be rooting for Theo as he does his best to extricate himself from his royal duty.

Given The Prince and the Apocalypse ended on a cliffhanger, I was very happy to see this sequel. This picks up where the story left off, but it's also a heaping helping of new drama, relationships, and "stuff" to navigate. Also, there's plenty of Comet the dog, and I love that for this story. Thanks to NetGalley for the early look at this July 2024 release.

This sequel to The Prince & the Apocalypse is even crazier than the first book, and it was so so good! If you were like me and screamed at the ending of the first book, you will love this one! Wren and Theo are reunited, and disaster strikes again as they are marooned on a volcanic island along with two of Theo's siblings, Wren's sister, and Wren's best friend. I'm astounded how much plot McDowell was able to cram into this book. I laughed, I swooned, and teared up. And I cheered as Wren and Theo made their own happily ever after for themselves, on their own terms.
