 Stephen King books are so full of detail that it can be an immersive read, or it can be just too much. Firestarter fell into the too much category for me. It was a good story, but a little too long.

The backstory was great. The government testing on humans to create superweapons. The volunteers getting minor powers that help them, but not much overall. Then two of them get married and have a superbaby.

Poor Charlie the little girl that could start fires with her mind. All she wants to do is live a normal life, and not set fires. With the government chasing them Charlie is forced to protect herself and her father.
