This book has a lot going on. There's a serial killer running around, ghosts, family issues, and mysterious people with unexplained agendas.

Eve Duncan has been searching for her daughter Bonnie's killer for years, refusing to let go of the past, and determined not only to find the killer and bring him to justice, but to find Bonnie's remains and bring them home.

When a senator's daughter is found murdered, with all the blood drained from her body, and an ornate gold goblet in her hand with traces of blood in it, it becomes clear that a very twisted serial killer with an unknown agenda is on the loose. When Eve finds a similar goblet in her own refrigerator, with traces of blood in it as well, she realizes the killer has an unhealthy interest in her personally, and may know something about Bonnie's death.

With the help and support of Joe Quinn, Eve's long-term boyfriend, and Jane McGuire, the street kid Eve and Joe adopted and raised, Eve sets out to discover whether this murderer is involved with Bonnie's murder, and bring him to justice.

They're helped in the investigation by some unusual individuals - the ghost of the Senator's daughter, who keeps appearing to Joe and demanding he catch her killer, and Bonnie herself, who has been speaking to Eve for years since her death to convince her mother to keep living.

The appearance on the scene of Caleb, the mysterious individual who seems to know a great deal about these unusual murders, and may even know who the killer is, complicates an already complicated investigation.

This is an interesting serial killer story, with some clever plot twists, likeable characters and a well written story. I recommend it if you like this genre.

Started out a little slow and predictable, but had some driveway moments at the end.
