This is another typical great work from Gladwell. Here, he challenges the conventional wisdom about defeating giants and looks at the idea that smaller classrooms are better for learning, among others. The chapters that worked the best for me were the ones on disabilities and the advantages they actually provide to those who have them. I like how Gladwell is always challenging our conventional wisdom and upending it. This is one of his best books. Engaging and well written and extensively researched. Gladwell clearly knows his stuff and does his homework but never makes it too technical or boring. That's the mark of a great writer. Reading his books always makes me feel a bit smarter. That's the highest praise I can think of. Definitely worth a read.
A little droll but some really inspiring lessons learned.
David and Goliath failed to live up to what I expected from Gladwell. While the book has a few intriguing key ideas (contrasting the big fish/small pond and small fish/big pond and the counterintuitive result of California's three-strikes law), it often felt like Gladwell was a little too enamored with what he was presenting and used cheap tricks to activate readers' emotional states (e.g., describing heinous crimes and acts of violence in great detail).
He uses a number of important historical examples to illustrate his points, but meanders through and then seems to hastily pull everything together at the end - perhaps he was hitting his book deadline?
I listened to the audiobook (read by Gladwell), and just got tired of hearing Gladwell go on and on.

most memorable part of this book was the beginning story of david and goliath that was cool :o
essentially, underdogs can win bc they bring an unconventional approach to situations and that unique perspective allows them to prevail (the other party never sees it coming)

Just like all Malcolm Gladwell books, interesting and enjoyable.

There is some interesting concepts here and I like the way that the author wants you to reframe how you think about being an underdog or how success can be achieved. The philosophical and historical relevance is executed in a good manner, but the overall flow of the book didn't click as well as some of the other books the author is written.
