I love intense men. I love mafia books. I love secretive men. A really good dynamic between Natalie and her best friend, a sad story about a woman left at the alter because her fiance just disappeared out of thin air. I was so happy watching her return to life outside of grief, it’s validating for those of us who are in a depression so deep that sometimes you don’t realize it becomes a normal until its broken up. Ugh. So, so good honestly.

This book had me hooked from the first chapter! The attraction between Kage and Natalie was instantaneous and intense. I loved getting both POVs, especially since plot-wise there were a lot of things Natalie didn’t know but Kage’s POV chapters clued the reader in.
Natalie annoyed me at first since it seemed like her entire personality revolved around her missing fiancé, and from her flashbacks about him he seemed very mid anyway. She needed someone like Kage to come in and shake her out of her routine. Sloane is a certified badass and I’m so excited for her book. Especially since we get some new characters and more insight into the criminal world with the Irish mob (yay)!
