This is a very good Batman graphic novel, and shout out to my friend and boyfriend for recommending it, but the only Batman content I was ever invested in was the show Gotham and omg the war flashbacks....
Because Gotham is how Batman starts out, and so is this graphic novel so uh a few times I had to stop reading to pause just so I could try to forget my teeange, queer baited self
Anyway besides my own tv trauma! This is a very gritty and tense introduction to Batman! And I like that the author commented that he thinks Batman shouldn't be silly or like Adam West's 60s portrayal - I like that version too, but it's cool to have a more serious Batman
The art style is also pretty good and the characters are very raw and intense!!
