Trifles

Compact story which says so much about both feminism and law. Although set at least one hundred years ago, the drama is still contemporary today. When is it right to become a jury of one's peers? And when do you distinguish a battered woman from a cold blooded killer? A real discussion piece. Glaspell created a masterpiece when she wrote Trifles. Love.

daily dose of english feminism <3

This was so short, but so good. I wish it was longer than just one act though.

Proof that women are more capable than men think.

A feminist play published 100 years ago. Are women's issues really trifling and insignificant? This play tries to demonstrate this but somehow vaguely (intentionally). 100 years later and this play is still current for our times. Still men (especially here in Cyprus) think that women's issues don't really matter if you compare them with 'important' male ones. 3.5 stars. Recommended

I think the husband killed the bird by strangling it, and she killed him in the same way as "punishment"

One of the best short stories to have ever been written.

An interesting look at sexism in the domestic sphere. Rather short and not enough substance to make it amazing, and definitely not the best thing I've read which tackles this issue, but an interesting play nonetheless.

Short story filled with plenty of symbolism. Not so easy to fully understand at first as it is more complex than it looks, but once you do some research everything will be crystal clear
