3.5 stars. I have mixed feelings about this one. There were moments I loved, but overall it was just good for me. I think I struggled connecting with the characters. I wonder if it's because I've never read the Kings of Men series. This book was pretty tied in to that series and the characters. I never felt lost while reading, so it can technical standalone, but I would definitely recommend reading at least Bent, Not Broken (which I've read) before this one and probably Kings of Men too.

This book had me from the first chapter and only got better. It's a great addition to their New Gothenburg world!
