Slow, atmospheric mystery that is more of a study of people and relationships, with a tiny bit of magical realism
mysterious slow-paced

Loveable characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This was slow, meandering, beautiful.

Sometimes I just really want an atmospheric read and this is exactly that.

James and Johnny are twins. Johnny is gone and the place they grew up is full of secrets. But how do you choose when you have unearthed enough secrets and which ones should stay buried.

This is a SLOW burn and I think the audio is really what propelled me forward. Not a lot happens but I enjoyed the story.

I love her writing style and LOVED the unmaking of June farrow so I was expecting that level of story here and it kind of fell flat for me. A decent read though
dark emotional slow-paced

The writing was pretty and the story was good, but the characters were very flat.
And idk why it had to end with a pregnancy?

Loved this. Loved the imagery, so beautifully written. Listened to some as well, and the narrator was perfect. It even FELT moody and dark, transported to this book.
