Thank you for NetGalley for the e-arc of A Sea of Unspoken Things.
This took me forever to get into this book. I don’t know if I didn’t connect well to the characters or what. Once I was finally hooked I read it pretty quickly. Towards the end the pace picked up and it made you want to know who killed Jonny. I think James’ relationship with Micah could have been further developed as they were kind of slapped together in the end. Overall an okay book.

I love Adrienne Young. Her writing style is fluid and immersive and I’ve loved every one of her books so far. This one was great, until I got caught up on one detail. And no one else seems to be talking about it.
***spoilers***
Why didn’t Autumn’s mom report her missing???? She is supposedly gone away to college—her first time leaving the little town—and her mother isn’t worried that she hasn’t spoken to her in four months??!! This would have been an easy fix in the story. Make Autumn an orphan, or have her mom be out of her life for whatever reason. But nope. They supposedly ask her mom when was the last time she was seen, and it was the party the day before she went missing. So mom didn’t call to make sure she arrived okay? Didn’t text or call to make sure she liked her classes, her roommates, and find out if she needed anything? I just cannot believe it. If I missed something, someone please point it out to me.

A thriller about Johnny & James m/f twins. James left the life she grew up with and her twin brother Johnny behind after an unfortunate event that left a classmate dead. James gets notified that Johnny was found dead probably from an accidental shooting in the woods, she comes back to her hometown and all the drama she left behind to investigate her brothers death.
This was a very twisty book where I was questioning people’s motives and I didn’t guess everything correctly. I enjoyed it.

3.5! I loooved the second half of this but the first half was quite slow and hard to get into. Also the romance felt very underdeveloped. Nevertheless, I love Young’s writing and think she’s an impeccable storyteller. Her books are always unique and mysterious in a way that I really enjoy.
