The ones that have stuck in my mind a few weeks after reading are:
the first story and possibly the strongest, where a woman gets scammed by her ex-husband and former best friend, who he left her for. Except they once had a threesome and she still loves them BOTH fr fr....
middle story about a daughter meeting her estranged father for the first time on his deathbed (except he is already dead and they never actually met)
young college student who goes to Haiti and decides to drop out and give her life to charity
mistress of a rich man whose wife and daughter were killed in the Haitian earthquake

So glad that Reese picked this book. Danticat’s short stories in Everything Inside are so moving and deep. At the center of each story is an intense relationship, and I think the title, Everything Inside, ties all of these stories together nicely... how we deal internally with hard situations. I think this quote sums up the message pretty well: “The Tainos believed themselves to have originally been cave people who would turn into stone when touched by sunlight. They knew the risk when they stepped into the light, but they did it anyway in order to create a new world, a world that continues to exist, because we are still here.”

This was such a great read. Truly moving short stories all tied together by Haiti.

I enjoyed these stories a lot. I think they a well written, and the audiobook was well read. I don't know if I came of the experience inspired or overly moved, but I was entertained and interested the entire listen.
