I think the tragedy of Guts giving up everything to save Griffith who in turn would have always sacrificed him to get what he desired most is intensely compelling. However, I genuinely think the choice to make Casca’s torture so grossly titillating is entirely bullshit and really discounts her story when she’s being now constantly objectified.
