It was really hard to get through. I have up on it at 30% but had a 6 hour flight a few days later so ended up finishing it. It didn't feel like a "must read" sequel.

This book is an exciting space romp with a lovely star-crossed romance. Ana and Di are obviously the heart of the story, but the other relationships are given a fair amount of focus too.
I was so intrigued by the plot and so invested in the characters that I flew through the book without even noticing. It's a long book, as is the first one, but it's such a lightening-quick read.

I loved this book…and the first! Can that be my whole review? I loved Heart of Iron and Soul of Stars is just as good. Jax and Robb and Ana and Di and and and, so many cinnamon roles and such a great story. Please say there could be a book 3?

I found that this novel was a good end to the story of Ana and Di. Overall, I wasn’t exactly super compelled to read it and found myself prioritizing other activities over reading. That isn’t to say that the book or the plot was bad, it simply wasn’t quite as much of a page turner as the first book. I still enjoyed the stories and the characters, though there was significantly less character development than in the first novel and it was much more predictable. There were not that many twists that I didn’t see coming. However, I do recommend this series and will likely come back to it at a later date, for it did make me smile a lot and the characters surely made a lasting impact in my mind.

As fast paced, witty, and clever as the first book. Really enjoyed this adventure, the romance, and the conclusion all wrapped up in a nice bow.

This is most definitely my second favorite book of 2019!
The best thing about this duology is it’s an Anastasia retelling set in space and the queer rep is unreal!!
“Love was stubborn, and love was impatient, and thoughtless and self-centered and vainglorious. It hid in the crevices of your soul when you thought it had run away, and it never left-like a scar: deep and ugly and endearing.”
I remember reading Heart of Iron last year, and loving it! Tops, one of my favorite books last year. I wasn’t sure what to expect in the sequel, but Poston did a great job tying everything together; even though it is clear she picked from Star Wars and Star Trek for world building and whatnot, lol!
I started out giving this book 5 stars, but I think, since writing this review, it’s now 4.5 stars. I’ve come across a few minor problems that do change my view towards the book and duology overall.

SOO GOOD. There were so many twists and turns. I loved all of the side romances going on (beautifully written). Lots of action too.

Storywise i give this book 3.5 stars, it is full of action and you never get bored, but i found myself not able to be totally immersed in the story.
The + 0.5 stars is for the amazingly diverse cast of this book: amazing.
