I love Lauren Smith and any time the chance to read one of her books comes along, I always grab onto it! And how fortunate for me that this time it was The Rakehell's Seduction because I have been in the mood for historicals something fierce the past week or two, so it was just like getting to have my cake and eat it too. The Rakehell's Seduction was absolutely fabulous and I positively adored it!

Alex is a strong heroine, she's funny, a little mischievous, and she doesn't care for London or society at all. She loves the freedom she has living in the country and she's not going to let any man ruin that for her. Of course, it's not as easy to remember that when Mr. Ambrose Worthing, the notorious rakehell, arrives to seduce her and even though she knows better, she can't help the way she feels about him. But I can't blame her, she might give him her heart more readily than she meant to, but she definitely makes him work for her in the end. Alex is smart and lovely and I loved her.

And while there were times that Mr. Worthing made me roll my eyes at his foolish thoughts and made me want to shake him, I still loved that old rake! He's charming and fun and sexy and just good. Ambrose doesn't think he'd be good enough for or enjoy only one woman, but he can't resist Alex. He's determined, protective, and so sweet - Ambrose is just a wonderful hero!

The Rakehell's Seduction isn't a long read, but that didn't make any less good or full of heart. It was so fun, entertaining, and enjoyable to read. I loved every minute of it from the moments that made me laugh to the moments that made my heart ache. It was a delightful, passionate, excellent tale and I can't wait to read the next book!

The Rakehell's Seduction can be read as a standalone, it's told from Ambrose and Alex's POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after.

After the ending in Forbidden, I was really excited to start Seduction! I will admit that I did enjoy Forbidden more than Seduction because it wasn't as angsty. The first book had its angst but we got to see how Tristan and Kat were together and in this book, they're trying to figure what to do after the bombshell they were left with. But just because I didn't enjoy this one as much, doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it all - because I did! I loved seeing the magic between Kat and Tristan and how much they care about each other. Seduction was still an excellent read and I can't wait to see how it all ends!

Well, just like I enjoyed Forbidden more, I also liked Kat more in that book than this one. Don't get me wrong, I still loved her, but she definitely has her weak, conflicted moments. I could understand where she was coming from though, even if I didn't totally agree with her and she honesty didn't annoy me. Kat does find her strength and I look forward to watching who she becomes in Climax!

I didn't know it was possible, but I fell even more in love with Tristan! He's so determined to have Kat and you can't doubt how he feels about her. He's his normal dominant self, but we get to see a softer, more vulnerable side to him as well. I loved that and his dominance, his thoughtfulness, and I just loved Tristan!

Seduction might be a short, fast read, but that doesn't mean that it won't make your heart ache - because it will. It will frustrate you and make you feel powerless at times and it will make you desperate to see everything work out for Kat and Tristan. It's hard to watch Tristan and Kat struggle to figure out what's right and it's not an easy book on your heart, but there's always a hope that they will be able to work it out and get their happily-ever-after in the end. Seduction might not have been my favorite book in this serial but I can't deny that it made me feel, both the bad and the good.

Seduction is the second part in Her British Stepbrother serial, it's told in Tristan and Kat's POV, and it does end leaving you needing more!

Rakehell’s Seduction has everything you could ask for in a historical romance:

A dashing rouge………check!

Instant attraction………check!

Betrayal and mystery……….check!

Redemption and a happily ever after…………I’ll leave you to discover that.

From the very first pages I was swept into this delightful novel and couldn’t put it down until I finally discovered the mystery surrounding the disastrous bet involving Alexandra. Alexandra is smart and witty with just a touch of mischief. She’s is always keeping Ambrose on his toes.

Of course, I had my doubts about Ambrose. I mean who would set out to seduce a young woman thinking that he would be doing it for her own good. Thankfully he proved to be an intriguing honorable, at heart, rouge that tugged at my heartstrings.

The chemistry and dialog between these two is so well done that you can’t help but hope that they will be able to overcome the roadblock set in front of them.

The story is well written and flows so smoothly that you too will wonder where the time went. And while this is the second book in the Seduction series it can be read as a standalone.

I'm still having trouble figuring out my feelings for this serial. I'm intrigued by the story and couldn't possibly pass up the chance to read each new installment but I'm not completely invested in the characters and that makes it hard for me to really fall in love with their romance.
Tristan is sexy but he's also a little too arrogant for my taste. Kat is almost too innocent and it's hard for me to reconcile the two of them together. Their attraction still seems a little to instant and superficial at this point. It's hard not to wonder if the whole step-sibling scenario is playing into their attraction more than anything else.
All that being said and I still NEED to see how this plays out.

Absolutely amazing!! I highlighted so many favorite parts and lines from start to end. The moment they met I knew they were a perfect match even with the pranks that followed. I loved that when I thought everything was going great a twist was thrown in about the wager that I did not see coming. All of the characters are a bit surprising as you get to know them and a couple of more twists are in there. The ending was perfect with the whole book having that bit of fairy tale feeling.

Alex may be my favorite heroine of all time. She is not shy, very bold, and knows how to stop a man in his tracks when he tries something. I loved how she got along with her father and how open she was about things.

Ambrose was exactly like I thought he would be after meeting him the last book. He definitely is a rake, but there is a side of him that wants to protect people. I loved how he treated people and when set out to make things better.

Vaughn was one I wanted hate when he showed up, but as it went on he sounded like a pretty good guy really. The parts in the end with Lady Society really have excited and I want to know who she is.

I will admit, I love just about anything British, but there is just something about Tristian that is to die for. I devoured this book I can't wait for the last installment.

SEDUCTION picks up where Forbidden ended, with Tristian and Kat heading home for the holidays. What they didn't expect was to discover that their divorced parents were dating and now engaged. Their parents relationship now throws their relationship into turmoil, as Tristian tries to figure out a way from them to secretly still see each other and Kat does her best to keep her future step-brother to just that...step-brother.

Tristian gives readers, even more, reasons to fall in love with him with this installment. He wrestles with the spot he and Kat find themselves in. He wants Kat like he's wanted no other, needs to be around her just as much as he needs to bed her. He tries to understand where Kat is coming from while at the same time pushing her to realize what they have and fight for it. Then there is Kat. She's absolutely torn between her father's happiness and her own. And I could completely understand her willingness to let her father finally have his. Plus there was the knowledge that she was not the kind of woman the future Earl of Pembrook would be allowed to marry. Each time she pushed Tristian away, it was two-fold: protect her heart from the heartbreak she knew was coming and ensure her father finally found happiness. It was heartbreaking, especially since readers know the chemistry Tristan and Kat have together is something that won't be ignored...no matter who much one or both of them wants to.

I can't wait for the final installment in this series. I have a feeling Tristan's father is going to make things much worse before our couple can find their HEA.

The beginning of the book was a bit slow to me.  However, the second half flew by quickly.  I really enjoyed reading it.

This is a 3 book series. Book #1 is called Forbidden. Book #2 is called Seduction. Book #3 is called Climax. I think you need to read from book 1 to 3 in order so you can get everything.

Once again this book was wow!! I was hooked on one page in Forbidden and I had to read this one to find out more on Kat and Tristan. I could not wait to finish this book and continue to read the next book, Climax.

Seduction picks up where Forbidden ended. Will Kat and Tristan be able to be together? Love one another as their hearts are telling them to?

Another cliffhanger.
