This was a very light, funny and entertaining book. It was just what I needed after some of the books I had been readding. I recommend this for anyone that just needs to laugh a little bit! It was laugh out loud funny throughout the book.
This is a very funny comedy of errors book! Loved the story from beginning to end!
Finished this on Wednesday. Very funny as usual. It's good to see Laurie can make up stuff that's as funny as her real life antics. She's a hoot and I can't wait for her next book.

Very quirky. The premise is completely far fetched, but I still really enjoy it. The main character, Maye, is impossible not to like. The second to last chapter has me laughing so hard that I was tearing up and had to put the book down. It was a quick, fun read and I would definately recommend it.
Laurie Notaro usually writes blog style funny memoirs, but this book is fiction. This book starts out with a writer moving from a city to a small town when her husband gets offered a great teaching job. Amazingly, i believe this is actually what happened to her in real life. Anyway, it starts out reading just like her non fiction books, and it's really funny. It was great. Then it gets weird, finding an old beauty pageant woman and stuff...it was huh what are you doing, you're adding fiction but ruining the book. There was still enough funny stuff in there, but all that knocked it down to three stars. I think that Laurie is best at writing about what actually happened, which is fine, because she does it well. I'm looking forward to reading more of her memoir humor essays!
