honestly, i put it down and had no interest in picking it back up. i think more editing could’ve been done because it felt quite clunky in terms of the writing. the conflict wasn’t engaging for me. i didn’t feel connected to the characters or their history. the world wasn’t developed enough, and it was weird knowing i was supposed to be in 1920s nyc but not feeling like it. just overall did not feel compelled enough to keep reading.
