a magical book about relationships, femininity, the art of noticing, and a woman's connection to her surroundings, written in a simple yet meticulous style, an observant effusion—a perfect summer read!

She just writes so beautifully....I will likely read it again. (It's short and written in short chapters, so it went by quickly....I'd like to take more time with it in a second read.)

So so fun to read! The imagery Lahiri creates is delish. Will be reading this many more times

I think this was too artsy for me. I love her writing style but i like a good story and this was sad musings of a lonely single woman with each chapter being a stray thought. Not my favorite kind of book.

There were moments whilst reading Whereabouts where I truly felt like I was reading excerpts from my own life.  The woman's way of living, the various relationships in her life and the thoughts running through her head as she observed the world around her really resonated with me.

I think this book will stay with me for a while.

A book about noticing the details, paying attention to the world around and feeling. It resonated with me.
