3.5 stars. Compelling but seemed to move too quickly, and rely on stereotypical characters.

Would probably give it 3.5 stars but it won't let me. :) This book was a quick read and kept me pretty interested. Up until the end. Then it was sort of 'meh'.

I found that this book was very strange, yet I found myself unable to put the book down. I really liked how it tied together events that was happening in that time period and emotional events that was happening in Beans life, hence the name Silver Star, which I thought was very clever because it was her dads award from saving someone from war, which was a real event, but it represented how strong the people all were emotionally. I've noticed how one big thing people are noticing about the book is how they feel the characters are underdeveloped, which is fair, but I would like to give credit to the author for how developed their emotional states were, however it was tough at times to figure out how some things tied together. Overall it was a good book, and I'm excited to read her next ones.
