Because of the similarity of symptoms to those of allergies, this is an under-diagnosed condition. But approximately 1% of the population suffers from it. The author (who has a PhD in medical microbiology and immunology as well as being a registered dietitian) addresses the differences as well as the underlying causes and related issues. There is an extensive and comprehensive section on diet, which seems to be the best way of managing symptoms, as well as a series of case histories. I was surprised that mould and other biotoxin related illnesses weren't included and she seems to have a particular interest in women's health and hormonal fluctuations. On the whole, though, I found this a very readable and useful book. I just wish the print had been a bit larger. Definitely one for the e-reader if you're visually impaired.
