I didn’t want this book to end. I love how much I felt like I was in Darcy’s world. I didn’t want this book to end. This is a true fictional coming of age story. From High school drama to family life issues. I felt like this book was some I could pick up over and over and fall in love with the characters from the start over again. Is so cute.

Not my typical read but enjoyable. I would have liked to see more of
Asher and Darcy. The end felt a little rushed, like most of the book was a build up and then it kind of dispersed? Still liked it I think

I don't think I would have ever picked up this novel had it not been a pick for my book club the Between the Sheets Book Club (as it is not the genre I usually gravitate towards) and I'm sad to say I didn't enjoy this one because of this reason.

My main issue with this novel is the fact that it lacked....direction. It was very much a character-driven story, but the plot felt like too much and not enough simultaneously. So many subplots were introduced (some feeling more "out of the blue" than others), and it made the reading experience feel overcrowded. I appreciated how this novel discussed hoarding and familial relationships, but it just wasn't fleshed out enough to where I felt a deep connection to what was happening - I didn't find myself rooting for anyone, or anything for that matter. The big reveal at the end was extremely rushed as well.

I found our main character Darcy to be very surface-level and pretentious at times. Our love interest Asher Fleet was very standard for a YA love interest (and no, his irony of last name and his desire to be a pilot was not lost on me), but I wish their romance made a little bit more sense. I think that all of the relationships in this book could have been fleshed out a bit more, especially being as it is a character-driven story.

The writing felt juvenile to me - it felt very early-teen YA (like the 11-12 age range). That being said, I am willing to give another one of this author's novels a go, I just wish I loved this one a little bit more!
