Loving this series. This one is about self-image and also, diabetes! I love the way Nikki Grimes gently notes that Damaris lives in the shelter and Dyamonde keeps her clothes in the hall closet. So, don't feel bad if you live in the shelter or keep your clothes in the hall closet. Here are some very nice little girls in a book who are the same as you. R. Gregory Christie's vibrant pen and ink illustrations jump off the page. He's a master of noses, hair and body language.
