Wow, I loved this book. He had such a diverse and interesting life. I loved all of Roald Dahl's books. I had a box set when I was younger, and I devoured these books.

This is an unbelievable retelling of adventures from master storyteller and RAF pilot, Roald Dahl. Recounting his days in the military during WWII, Dahl candidly describes the incompetence that came to characterize many missions and commands given to untrained, understaffed outposts. What an outsider may have thought of as a well coordinated effort was, in fact, anything but. The victory and his journey home are a wonder.

this is the ultimate book to read in a reading slump. It’s fast paced and interesting and immediately pulls you in even if you start at a random chapter.
