This is the perfect book for the season! There’s something oddly comforting in Gothikana. It’s not exactly breaking new ground, but there’s a familiarity that is like a dark and cozy blanket wrapped around you. It’s ground you know like the back of your hand. It feels like coming home.
Initially, I kept passing this book up because it had the “tale of dark romance” blurb on the front. And since I discovered dark romance was definitely not my thing, I kept ignoring it. Once I finally read the blurb and realized it was dark academia with romance…it felt like it was going to land more on the side of what I like to read. I’m glad it worked out that way too! This was eerie, mesmerizing, and possessive in a way that didn’t give me the ick. I loved the gothic and supernatural setting, too. This was a fun read that surprised me, I highly recommend it for spooky season!

This was a really awesome dark gothic academia. Easy story to follow. Lots of lust and a morally grey MMC. Very hot
Wow. I don’t have enough words to express how much I LOVED every second of this book. This may be my favorite read by far. Dark, gloomy castle on a mountain? Sexy, mysterious, dark-haired teacher???? Sweet and spicy?????? Sign me up!! I highly recommend this book if you love mystery and spice. First book I’ve read by this author and I’ll be reading more from her.

This is a dark romance set in an academic setting. Forbidden love student teacher relationship. This is a beautifully written story. The world it is set in is so very fascinating and it had me wanting to keep reading. The only thing that made it hard was the third person POV. It had nothing to do with the book it’s just not a thing I like. The audiobook was good and I recommend it. Scarlett Dorian and Aiden Snow did an amazing job.<
