I enjoyed Lily Allen's autobiography and raced through it in a matter of days. I would have liked to see more material on her career in the music industry, especially in more recent years - there was some, but it was balanced out with lots of content about her upbringing and personal life. That's just me though! This book touches on a lot of heavy topics so definitely check the content warnings if you'd like to know.

I knew Lily Allen was a celebrity, but honestly, that's where it ended for me. I wasn't sure if it was acting, singing or something else all together. Still, I found this book as a way to learn more.
I felt like I connected with her on so many levels, and disliked her all at the same time. I've never been famous, wrote music or even played in a band, but I was a drug addict and lived a very toxic life for a short time. Those moments in the book, I knew how she felt. I knew why she was doing it. I totally got it!
She is such a narcissist though. She openly admits it too. That is frustrating. It sucks as a reader, trying to get to know her too.
I feel for her. I feel like she should want more for herself since she so candidly tells the reader how she has the means to do what most people can't. But I digress....
Not a book I'd recommend, fan or not. Her fans may not like some of the things she says in this book and the ignorant reader, like me, definitely will not.

Absolutely incredible, it was funny and honest and open and raw, heartbreaking and sad and shocking all at once. I loved it, and I feel privileged to have listened to it.
