**This review was written after a reread**

How often do you get a third book that is better than the first? Not often, but that seems to be Sarah's specialty.

This book once again took you on an unexpected journey. It didn't lack anything that the previous book provided while seeming to focus a lot on character development, especially 'Elentiya' who is struggling with grief, self-loathing and regret. She finally lets down her walls in this novel and it's refreshing to see.

This story is very character driven. While most of the players stay the same, we are introduced to three new important characters: Rowan, Aedion and Manon. It is hard to believe that Sarah has the ability to make us fall in love with even more characters but somehow she has succeeded.

Despite being 550+ pages, the majority of the book just flies by. It sets up the next book excellently and leaves reader reaching for the next one.

Re-read! This was where I got the ToG-fire/flame/bug whatever and the second time was even better! Again did it 50/50 with the audiobook and I loved it.

The first time it took me a whiiiiile to get used to the multiple storylines/POV’s but now I know everyone it’s even better! Only minus points I don’t like Dorian in this book but love love love him later one. Chaol meh but somewhere he means well and he tries I guess?
