This is almost 800 pages of emotional and sexual abuse. Horrible vibes from the MMC, he treats the FMC like a dog at his call. The whole concept of the "Bond" and how Fae have a place in this world is so icky. Everytime I think the MMC is going to redeem himself, he continues to be a piece of ass. I don't know how this book as over 4k ratings and sits above 4 stars. This is not "dark romance" this is just abuse.  Ladies this is NOT the standard, romantasy authors need to do better.

This was the fastest I’ve ever given up on a book. I can’t fully express how awful this is??? Like am I just supposed to accept that the main character is being forced into a non consensual bond with the main male character THAT CAUSES HER PAIN?? The synopsis for the book didn’t seem that great but the reviews were high??? Literally don’t even bother

This book....

I wanted to throw this book out my window EVERY SINGLE chapter. There are no words to how much I resent the MMC and basically every character except the FMC. 

However, the book is well written and I think the author has done a grea job to make the reader  invested in this story and the characters.  

Am not so secretly hoping for proper revenge for the FMC in the following books.

I don’t even know how to write this review. I absolutely loved and hated it at the same time? The writing definitely sucked me in and I stopped every thing to read it - speeding through in 48 hrs is not for the faint of heart. The MMC is very morally grey. FMC was so intriguing and the author I think does an amazing job with her character development given the trauma the MMC has been through. This middle 1/3 if the book was a bit repetitive and slow. I couldn’t put it down. VERY DARK. CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS. I’m both disturbed and so intrigued by this world, if it weren’t for things revealed at the end I might not have wanted to keep reading the series because of the intense slavery like aspect. I think it’s too dark for me to continue in the series.
