This is the worst book i have ever read in my life. Its so poorly written i know a ten year old can write better than this.
I was a bit hesitant about starting this, because there have been many negative reviews about this book. But I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it! Maybe it's because I love crime shows on TV and that Criminal Minds is one of my favorite series ever. I don't know why, I just did.
As for the plot twist, I started suspecting everyone by the middle of the book. Yet I was still surprised when I found out who it was!
I was intrigued by the main character, Lane, as well. I feel like she did develop a bit throughout the book, especially emotion-wise. I liked her point of view, it was kind of like reading a book through objective eyes. Most main characters are subjective and so we are influenced by their sense of morale. But since Lane is not really a normal girl, it was more objective. I quite enjoyed that, it makes me feel like I get to be the one to seperate right from wrong in the story.
I feel like this book has showed me again that you shouldn't steer clear of a book just because other people don't like it. We are all so different, and you might enjoy it!
Glad I read this! :)

I have no words. This book is the kind of book you finish in one sitting. It really wasn't smart of me to start it at midnight. Though the book didn't have much of a deep or artistic element to it, Green knows how to keep it interesting. There were so many plot twists, which I loved. I was shocked so many times and may have screamed a little at the end.

You are right. What the fuck.
WHAT THE FUCK.

Ok, I... am just gonna start now, ok?
I tried to read this book first when I got it, but I gave up to easily and I just don't want to start SIX OF CROWS just yet so I keep reading books I DNF.
So, as you can see in the Goodreads summary, this book is about a girl who easily emphasize with serial killers and when one serial killers comes into her home she flips out, does some research and bähm.
This girl is Lane, clearly a sociopath with a weird obsession. Serial killers. She does not show emotions easily and she is weird af as one of my friends would say. AF AF AF AF AF AF AF AF AF. It's hard to really get into herself as a character. She never shows any emotions, she often says that her sister's a whore and gives "regular handjobs"... It's just that her, let me just claim it as it is, brutal honesty is disturbing. When she had sex with this guy, she shrugged, said literally whatever and moved on. It was just sex, not a big business.
She was always in the spotlight, like ALWAYS what I get, really I get it, she is the main character but DAMN DANIEL, I just wanted to smash her "I know everything because I am weird AF" attitudish face against a fucking wall. I really disliked her as a character.
There were two things that kept me going: The very fast writing and the killer. The author introduced a few characters of whom i thought might be the killer but
WHAT THE FUCK.
I did not see this coming. Btw I really don't get this Damn Daniel, but I saw it while watching Ellen and now it's fun, but whatevs.
The book left me with one emotion:

And because it's not enough:

Yeah...

mysterious
tense
fast-paced

Okay, I debated what to star this as. I wasn't happy with the a certain scene in the book. I don't understand why it had to be there.
I did like the book overall. The MC was fun to listen to when she was all being socio.
It's written in first person present tense. It didn't bother me thankfully.
3.5 stars. A good read.

Lane is obsessed with serial killers and feels the urge to kill within herself. Lane has decided to start acting upon her impulses. Will she become the killer she believes she is? On top of Lane's new actions, a serial killer has finally come to her town and has contact Lane.
I wasn't really into this book. I felt that Lane's personality was pretty sterile. Perhaps, that was the point of the author. However, it wasn't something I really connected with.

More of a 2.3 or so. Only stuck around to see what would happen, otherwise would have DNFd. I knew I would have to suspend my disbelief a bit in order to enjoy this book and despite that, still struggled to feel like a part of the story. Something happened at the end that was just incredibly unrealistic and frankly, humanly impossible which made me not round up to a 3 stars. Enjoyed how it ended though, glad I stuck around to the end but wouldn't recommend
Loved it, finished it in two days. A different perspective from most murder mystery books. Good plot.
