I absolutely adored this book. While it may be a little bit longer, I definitely found it loveable and worth it because it was so interesting to see Theo the main character grow up and become what he will be: for better or worse. The writing style of this book is also so like Charles Dickens with a modern twist it would be hard to say no. The imagery is something greater than I would ever wish to create for myself and Boris was definitely my favorite character who made this book that more amazing.

so insanely slow paced, but well worth it. but i found it tended to lull in some areas and then rush through introducing new things that i would have liked to have been explored more.

it’s an incredibly well written book, and kept me constantly engaged, interested and eagerly waiting to see how it was going to end, yet not wanting it to.

Donna Tartt could write an incomprehensible Yelp review filled with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes and I still would think about it every day for the next three years

The characterization of the main character Theo really makes you feel attached to him which helps progress the plot. And Donnas writing style is so immersive I felt like I was really along for the ride. My only issues with The Goldfinch were that the over-all message was common but not stated any differently than it normally is; and that it tended to be slow in some places.
