Wow. This was somehow exactly what I wanted to read right now and it was so suspenseful, eerie, and chilling, it ended up being a perfect Halloweentime read.
Phoebe Strole's dreamy voice walked me through the horror of the deaths of five cheerleaders five years ago: two murders, two killed in a car crash, and one who committed suicide. I don't know if it's because Phoebe's voice is so lovely and comfortable, but it cast a melancholy and chilling color over the whole story, reminding me with each passing word that this was just a young girl who was experiencing these horrors of the world.
Monica was so interesting in her raw grief, not only over the loss of her sister but also her recent statutory rape and subsequent abortion, and it makes her head a scary place to be.
This was definitely one of the better thrillers I've read as of late, especially considering the fact that this is a YA thriller. Great job, Kara Thomas. I'll be keeping my eye out for your work.

Spoiler
That part at the very end when she was standing over Brandon, wanting so badly to kill him was bone-chilling.This was definitely one of the better thrillers I've read as of late, especially considering the fact that this is a YA thriller.
