This is like the last 6-7 chapters from endure but in Jaime and Louie’s POV. Typically I don’t like those since it takes away a lot of the emotional tension. This is different. It stayed true to the intentions Maura perceived, for the most part, while also giving insight to their emotional turmoil whenever they fucked up. We also get insight into their desperation and fear. Oh and we get a glimpse at what went down after the end of endure. I appreciated this pov. Although It’s not totally necessary in terms of the plot development, it definitely added to their character development…along with Stefan’s.
I don’t think someone would need to read this book to move onto the third, but you might want to at least read the last two chapters since that went beyond the end of “Endure.”
