If I thought the first book was dark, Watch Your Back proved me completely wrong. This second instalment takes things to an even darker and more twisted level. I spent most of the book in a constant “what the actual fuck?!” state. And I loved every minute of it.
The tension is razor sharp, the sex scenes are as wild as ever (group orgies included), and the betrayals cut deep. Tate James doesn’t shy away from violence or emotional brutality here, and it makes for a compulsive, fast-paced read.
The only downside? It ended way too soon and left me dangling on one hell of a cliffhanger. Bring on the next book! I’m desperate!

I’m hooked on the Devil’s backbone series! And I have a 3 week wait until book 3, after this one ended on a huge cliffhanger! 😮
This book picks up where book 1 left off, with Ashley and the guys.
Just when they think they’ve found the culprit behind the strange happenings, Ashley’s Mum reveals information which changes everything and highlights that the threat is very much still present, perhaps even more so than before.
The final few pages of this book BLEW MY MIND. I did not see that twist coming at all, and can’t wait for book 3!

Hmmm.... I thought I knew exactly where the story was going after the first book, but now at the end of book two, I'm like.... excuse me, what ? It was pretty enjoyable and the writing was pretty good. Will definitely pick up book three and hope that it comes together well and isn't a disappointment!
Spicier, ending makes me want to read on. Ashley is scholarship student studying for masters at new college. Her new step bro Nate and his 3 friends Royce, Carter and Heath.are part of a secret society. She finds a journal depicting terrible events that war. Against society but she is thrust in anyway. This book gets into hypno events like murder where they don’t realize what they’re doing and no one is exempt and no one is safe.
