The vibes were good, definitely recommend, I remember the MC’s names but probably won’t re-read.
This book perpetuates gay stereotypes. The mc is just the oversexualising of gay men and 99% of the things that comes out of his mouth are some dirty jokes or snarky remarks. No personality at all, not a speck. Don't recommend at all
I really enjoyed this sometimes silly but always really great romance story.
I laughed a lot. And smiled more. This was fun, and surprisingly low angst for a story with a mystery “bad guy” aspect. I like that we get a solid look at their relationship, they choose one another early on and there’s no 3rd act breakup. Learning this is the start of a series for them was exciting. All around a big win!

This was so fun! Alice books aren't for everyone, you need to have a special kind of humor, and if you do, you are in for a great time!

Almost a year later, just updating to say this book changed my life. It’s my ultimate comfort read, and Alice Winters is still pretty much my entire personality. If anyone asks me my favorite book or series, this one is automatically the first book out of my mouth. And it’s not like it’s MEANT to be life changing. It’s over the top, snarky humor and banter with mediocre sex scenes, but it’s still everything to me. I can’t describe it.. it makes me laugh and makes me smile and makes me emotional. The found family and long running gags from book to book. Michael Ferraiuolos narration is like a comfort blanket. I hope this series never ends!

Libro perfetto se hai voglia di vedere gli omosessuali solo come feticci sessuali, perché non è possibile che ogni pagina quasi ci sono riferimenti al sesso o a vari organo genitali.

Trama che sembra inesistente: il plot principale si perde tra i capitoli in cui Leland fa strane avances, in cui i due si conoscono e chiavano, il cattivone è catturato non perché il DETECTIVE PRIVATO EX SOLDATO faccia qualcosa di utile, ma solo perché un altro cattivo fa un passo falso. Questi due geni dopo essere scampati a un assassinio decidono di andare a una Réunion familiare, quindi non mi aspetterei tanto da loro.
Relazioni familiari poco realistiche, con un genitore omofobo che decide di accettare il figlio gay perché il fidanzato maniaco (sì Leland sto parlando di te ) gli dice che è perfetto. Certo, funziona proprio così. O elementi più cupi trattati con la profondità di una pozzanghera ( “Grab your buddy’s gun and either shoot your dick off so you can’t rape anyone ever again, or I’ll kill you.” ...lo stupro è una questione di potere. Pure che lui mo sta senza pene cosa gli cambierebbe?; o Leland che è perdonato quasi istantaneamente per aver ucciso un buono perché "eh non voleva il suo capo gli ha mentito". Gang credo che anche se fosse completamente accidentale sarei un po' urtato dal fatto che hai messo fine a una vita innocente)
Jackson ha il prosciutto più spesso che abbia mai visto sugli occhi: nonostante Leland uccida la gente, sia molesto e invadente, RAPISCA UN SUO AMICO/INFLUENZA PATERNA, lui è pronto a perdonarlo e a dargli un'altra chance perché lo ama follemente. Bro. No.
Lo consiglierei? No. È una storia che ho trovato davvero irritante sul piano romantico e vuota a livello di thriller, con Leland il super mega mercenario che è bravissimo a uccidere e i criminali che si fanno aiutare dalla mammina (letteralmente)
