Told in dual timelines and from multiple perspectives,Where It All Lands was emotional journey of three teenagers.
Music plays huge part of the book and I liked the premise of this book a coin toss changing the course of someone's life. Overall, an enjoyable YA read.

How can things change just based on a coin toss?

When a new girl, Stevie, shows up at school and they both like her, best friends Drew and Shane use their standard way of deciding who gets to do something...a coin toss. This book uses dual timelines to tell what happens if Drew wins the coin toss vs. if Shane wins.

All three teens are passionate about playing music and dream of making it big in the field, so I liked that aspect of the book.

Overall, I found it to be a sweet and engaging story and enjoyed the characters. The first two "alternating" perspectives were quite long, and I enjoyed it more when they alternated more quickly toward the end of the book.

Absolutely loved this book. Was a bit trippy so I had to make sure I followed the details and it really challenged my brain. I am still a bit lost on which side of the coin it flipped on so I can figure out what happened to Shane :c I do understand that that was the point though, that its not about how things end its about living. I thought the plot was genius the way it was written!

This book is SO GOOD.

SO GOOD.

A moving, real, sometimes funny, often heartbreaking look at choices and people and how complicated they can get. I loved how Jersey it was, I loved how into music the characters are, I loved their complicated family dynamics--I loved it all.

Also, it must be noted that rarely do I see super well-done love triangles--ones that are true TRIANGLES, where each party cares deeply about the two other parties. I think that's what made this book so great. These characters all care about each other so much, and it comes through so clearly.

Read this book!!!!!

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Where It All Lands will introduce you to a little love triangle - Stevie, Shane and Drew. Shane and Drew are best friends and lean on each other whenever times are tough. Which is a lot of the time if I'm being honest. Then there's Stevie, who is the new girl in town and the apple of their eyes. Yes, these two best friends had a crush on the same person without even really knowing her.

So what do these two idiots do? Flip a damn penny for her.

Well, maybe I should back it up just a little bit. They flip a penny for every damn thing in their lives. Games, movies, and such - you name it, they flip for it. Weirdest duo ever but I was here for it all. The penny was their fate and I'm just tagging along for the ride.

What a wild ride it was.

Honestly, I didn't really care for the romance. Maybe it's the possibility of a love triangle (which annoys me) or maybe it's just because I saw them all being just friends. Yeah, a crush might be there - lingering and such - but a crush can remain a crush. Ya know?

I'm probably in the minority about the romance though. All I'm saying is that the drama that unfolded throughout this book would be nonexistent if they were friends. Just saying people.

That being said, I devoured this book. All the drama kept this a page turner because I wanted to see how the penny could unfold their lives. It was pretty interesting to see the same end result but in different ways. The only thing that would've made it better was if I actually liked all of them.

I encourage parents to read this nihilistic book before allowing their minor children to be exposed to it. The subject matter may not be appropriate for sensitive teens.

I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

This book is so good! Add it to your summer reading list!

I really enjoyed this flip-a-coin dual timeline, multiple POV book that explores the idea of “what if you’d taken another path?” It’s a bittersweet story about 3 musical high schoolers finding their way to love and purpose despite what life throws at them. The characters are open and honest, their back stories are varied and complex. You’ll root for each one! Bring tissues for the end, too!

Thanks to Wednesday Books for the advanced read!

I was really hoping I'd enjoy this; I usually quite enjoy timeslip stories. I can't even put my finger on why exactly I didn't like it; the writing is good, the story is interesting, I liked the characters. It just didn't work for me, I'm afraid, but I hope it does really well once it goes on sale.

An interesting take on the classic two boys love the same girl teen triangle trope. This YA story features Shane and Drew who both fall for the new girl Stevie. All three have a passion for music and the two best friends flip a coin to see which of them can ask Stevie out. The book lets us see how events unfold in different scenarios (if Drew asked Stevie or if Shane did). An entertaining teen love story about friendship, first love and belonging. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance audio review copy!

I love that this book tackled the question of "what if things had gone differently?" in a real and realistic way. The dual timelines and multiple POVs really fleshed out the characters and made each timeline feel distinct. This is definitely a book that stuck with me, and I was left wondering how much of our lives is a choice and how much is the result of chance. The three main characters Stevie, Shane and Drew are all complex, with complicated, realistic backstories and a desire for "realness" while making their way through high school. The ending left me speechless and a little dry-eyed. I found the writing itself to be amazing as well.
