Haley a teenager fighting Batten's disease meets Matt, who is visiting his brother, in the hospital. This books brings to light Batten's disease, which I had never heard of before. (Which is almost always fatal between late teens and early 20s.) This story takes you thru Haley's emotions, trials and living life to the fullest. It's a good story of all types of relationships of family, friends and romance.

Very sweet romance.

A problem I have a lot of times with romance is that they’re so sweet they’re unbelievable. This was not one of those stories. Drawn together through the tragedy of a rare disease, Haley and Matt are the perfect couple. Haley herself was a very unique character. For everything that she went through, she stayed positive and upbeat about life.

All the characters were very well crafted, and it became all too easy to connect with them. This is a story that will have you laughing, crying, and rooting for the characters all the way through the book.

This is such a sweet romance! Haley is amazing. I loved how much life she had and how much she loved her life despite having Batten disease. It’s a very inspiring story. I also really liked how much her friends and family cared for her and how they would do everything they could to help her, and do it in such a way that didn’t make it extremely obvious she was blind. And of course, I also loved her dog, Charlie, because I always love dogs! It’s a realistic story with ups and downs, and it’s bittersweet, but it’s written so well that I couldn’t help but enjoy the read, even when it was difficult to read. I really loved the romance between Haley and Matt! It was so sweet, and they were so good together! This book kind of reminded me of Sarah Dessen or Lurlene McDaniel. It’s great young adult contemporary romance! It’s also great that it helps raise awareness about Batten disease!
