oh my god i hated this book. About 25% through i was thinking i would give it two stars but it just kept getting worse.

The main character is absolutely insufferable, the only thing she talks about is how she’s not like other girls, she doesn’t like people, and she doesn’t believe in god. it’s those three things just restated over and over again a hundred times. Usually I can overlook swearing, but she used the F word maybe every three minutes and it just added to how irritating she is, plus i found her obsession with her childhood mentor outright creepy.
WHO CRAWLS IN AND HAS A CHAT WITH A CORPSE?!

There were also some major plot holes and grammatical errors.

I really enjoyed most of this book. Apparently I like books about hiking and I would love to read more stories with this theme. I also liked the protagonist a lot. Ashley is smart and resourceful and just really cool. I did not enjoy the ... injury part. Almost DNFed it halfway through because I didn't know if I could stomach it any longer. But it got better, and I'm really happy I finished it. It's really a quick read and I even got quite emotional at the end.

Amazing story from McGinnis, good enough that I had to read it twice in one year. Even knowing what was coming I was gripped and had to keep reading to finish it as fast as I could.
